Scotland Yard faces having to pay six figure sum to an officer after a row over a towel

SCOTLAND Yard faces having to pay six figures to a decorated officer after a row over a towel.
A tribunal found Chief Insp Adrian Denby was victimised by a senior officer who saw one of his men in just a towel on his way to a locker room.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Maxine de Brunner accused Mr Denby, 48, of malpractice.
She said the “macho culture” within his Territorial Support Group, in Paddington, West London, was her pet hate.
Mr Denby was put on restricted duties and a tribunal found he was discriminated against.
The Met appealed — but lost its case and now faces a £100,000 payout.
Ms de Brunner has since quit the Met.
Mr Denby has been on sick leave.
It is not known if he will return to his post.
