Deputy Assistant Commissioner Maxine de Brunner accused Mr Denby, 48, of malpractice.

She said the “macho culture” within his Territorial Support Group, in Paddington, West London, was her pet hate.

Mr Denby was put on restricted duties and a tribunal found he was discriminated against.

The Met appealed — but lost its case and now faces a £100,000 payout.
