Tory activists blasted after asking residents to rate how important Grenfell disaster was to them on a scale of one to 10
Kensington, Chelsea & Fulham branch of the Conservatives sparked fury by circulating survey condemned as ‘breathtakingly inappropriate and insensitive’

TORY activists have been blasted after asking nearby residents to rate how important the deadly Grenfell disaster was to them on a scale of one to 10.
The Kensington, Chelsea & Fulham branch of the Conservative Party sparked fury by circulating the survey just months after 80 people died in the tragic fire.
Luke Francis, a local resident who posted a picture of it online, called it “breathtakingly inappropriate and insensitive”.
The questionnaire has been distributed to residents of the Courtfield Ward in the west London borough.
It asks people to “circle the number which represents how important to you and your family each of the following local issues”.
The first item is: “The tragedy of Grenfell Tower and help for the families affected and the wider community.”
It places the tragedy, which shocked Britain and was one of the worst fires in our history, alongside other local government issues like parking permits and recycling.
In response the Labour MP David Lammy, whose friend died in the Grenfell fire, reacted with fury.
He said on Twitter: “What is wrong with these people? What sort of society are we becoming?”
The Sun has contacted Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham Conservatives for comment.
