A CHRISTMAS tree in Cornwall has been slammed as "the worst in Britain" and likened to an "upside-down Cornetto".
Residents claim the artificial tree in Camborne town square "doesn't even resemble one", as it lacks branches and decorations.
Local Steve Heller said his two year old son usually loves to touch Christmas trees, but when he saw the town's new tree, he was completely disinterested.
Mr Heller said: "I was sent a picture of the tree on Facebook and my first thought was, it looks like an upside down Cornetto.
"Several other people had already commented the same thing. Maybe next year we can organise a fund raiser to have a real tree or something that at least resembles a tree."

Local resident Daniel Haydney added: "What is that thing? If you turned it upside down we could all sit round and eat some chips out of it."
Business Improvement District (BID) Camborne, who organised the festive display, said they were also disappointed, but determined to not to let it ruin Christmas in the town.
Manager Mel Martin said: "We... have complained to our supplier. It certainly doesn't meet the quality standard we had hoped for and expected, but we cannot change it for 2017.
"We did look into buying a real tree, but the total cost of supply, installation, removal and disposal was unfortunately well beyond the budget available."
Sharron Lipscombe-Manley, BID Camborne Chair, added: "The BID team is very disappointed with this tree as it wasn't what we were expecting.
"We have been assured that once the tree is lit it will look different and we're determined not to let it ruin our celebrations in Camborne."
The Christmas lights are being switched on in Camborne on Saturday 18 November.
