Burglars knock on woman’s door in Havant and spray acid in her face before raiding home
A MANHUNT is underway after burglars sprayed a woman with acid when she answered the door before raiding her home.
The 46-year-old victim was attacked by four men, who shoved her out the way before ransacking her flat.
The thugs made off with cash before fleeing the home in Havant, Hants, following the horror on Friday at around 12.30pm.
She was left with cuts and bruises all over her body and discomfort from the substance that was sprayed on her.
Thankfully she was left with no lasting damage, Hampshire Police said.
Cops have now launched an investigation and are trying to track down the four men.
A spokesman said: "One was white but looked tanned. He was around 5ft 4ins tall and of medium build with dark eyes.
"He was clean shaven and had short, dark, bushy hair. He was wearing a dark jacket which was black at the front and brown colour on the arms and he spoke in a local Hampshire accent.
"The second was white, around 5ft 9ins tall and of skinny build. He was clean shaven with grey/blue eyes and a skinny face. He was wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up.
"Officers believe this was an isolated targeted incident. They think it would have caused quite a bit of disturbance locally and are asking anyone who witnessed it or has any information about what happened to contact them.
"They are asked to call Detective Constable Sam Jones in the Eastern Investigation Team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
