FlyBe flight declares emergency before landing at Manchester airport after pilot declared ‘technical fault’

A FLYBE flight has declared an emergency on its approach to Manchester Airport due to a "suspected fault with the aircraft".

The flight from Paris requested a priority landing spot as emergency vehicles were placed on standby.

A FlyBe spokesperson said: "The safety of its passengers and crew is Flybe’s number one priority and the airline can confirm that the pilot of the above flight requested a priority landing on scheduled arrival at Manchester following a suspected technical fault with the aircraft.

"The pilot followed all required procedures and the Embraer 195 jet aircraft landed safely without incident and taxied to stand where all passengers disembarked as normal.

"As is standard procedure, the airport placed its emergency vehicles on standby."
