Stunning Battle of The Somme scene sketched in MUD on the back of a white van
Breathtaking tribute showing intricately sketched image of troops during the Battle of The Somme appeared for Remembrance Sunday last week
THIS sketch of an iconic World War 1 photo is literally moving — as it is made from dirt on the back of a VAN.
A street artist paid their respects to the fallen heroes of the Great War with the unique tribute showing British troops going over the top during the Battle of The Somme.
The intricate drawing was made using the dirt on the back of a mucky Transit to mark Remembrance Sunday last week.
It was spotted by a passerby in Tottenham, North London who took a snap which has since gone viral on social media.
Dean Rayner wrote on Facebook: "This van is parked down Silver Street.
"Whoever did this has one hell of a talent."
He added: "You my friend deserve a round of applause."
More than a million men were killed or wounded in The Somme, making it one of the bloodiest battles in history.
Dean's post, shared more than 24,000 times, garnered praise from thousands for the skillful dirt drawing.
One wrote: "That's fantastic and makes a change from the usual 'clean me' or obscenities".
Facebook user Oli Dawes added: "Take the backdoors off, & seal the dirt it!! Art like this can be worth a lot because of how unique it is."
The hunt is now on to identify the mystery artist.
Victoria Anne wrote: "Wow! That is some amazing talent right there! Would love to know who did this!"
