'she's strategic'

Meghan Markle’s first maid of honour calls Prince Harry’s fiancee ‘very calculated’ over way she ended her earlier marriage

THE maid of honour at Meghan Markle's first wedding has described her as "calculated".

Ninaki Priddy, who grew up with Markle, has told how the pair grew apart after her marriage ended and Prince Harry's fiancee shot to fame.

She : "All I can say now is that I think Meghan was calculated — very calculated — in the way she handled people and relationships.

"She is very strategic in the way she cultivates circles of friends. Once she decides you’re not part of her life, she can be very cold."

Meghan, 36, who this week announced her engagement to the 33-year-old royal, was previously married to Trevor Engelson.

Ninaki has lost contact with the Suits actress and claims the friend she knew has changed in the last six years.

Cheering crowds gather in huge numbers as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do their first public walkabout in Nottingham

Of Meghan's divorce she said: "I knew they fought sometimes, but it wasn’t anything huge. The only obstacle was the distance because she was living in Toronto and Trevor was based in LA.

"I don’t believe she gave him enough of an opportunity. I think there was an element of “out of sight, out of mind” for Meghan.

"The way she handled it, Trevor definitely had the rug pulled out from under him. He was hurt."

In stark contrast to what Ninaki describes, Harry and his bride-to-be have looked blissfully happy since the news broke of their engagement.

Today the pair were seen holding hands and chatting to excited fans, who had turned up in their hundreds in Nottingham armed with presents.

Meghan, who will wed Prince Harry on May 26 next year, shook hands with men and women, with the crowd chanting the couple's names.
