PROSECUTORS may consider criminal charges over the 1985 Bradford City football club fire which killed 56 fans.
It comes after claims the fire was one of nine linked to then club chairman Stafford Heginbotham — who died in 1995.
At the time the Bradford fire was ruled an accident.
But a book by survivor Martin Fletcher questioned the finding — claiming Heginbotham got millions in insurance payments relating to fires at business premises.
West Yorkshire Police has since carried out a review and handed files to prosecutors.
The Crown Prosecution Service said charges were not imminent — but did not rule them out.
A spokesman said: “We have received material from West Yorkshire Police in order to provide investigative advice.
"We have not had a full file of evidence referred to us, and are not currently considering charges."
