Why it’s our DUTY to hunt down and kill Brit jihadis in Syria, by Andy McNab
The former special forces fighter spoke to the Sun Online after new Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson vowed to kill Brit traitors who flee to Syria so they can fight alongside IS extremists
SAS hero Andy McNab has warned that we have no choice but to hunt down and kill Brits who have gone to join IS in Syria.
The former special forces fighter spoke to The Sun Online after new Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson vowed to wipe out all British traitors with air strikes - and not let them come home to the UK.
Decorated hero McNab said: "The Secretary of State for Defence is absolutely right. The fact is - at last - somebody has actually voiced the reality of life.
"You can take away all of the moral and ideological arguments. Ultimately, it boils down to what's called the battle space.
"The battle space is them against us, and if you entered that battle space then expect to be killed.
"Each side is engaged in combat and the military and the Ministry of Defence are employed to destroy the enemy."
The war hero also slammed claims that British combatants should be allowed to come home as they were "naive" or "brainwashed" - suggestions made by Max Hill QC, the Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation.
McNab said: "There is no room for morality - that puts our soldiers in danger when they're taking on a threat which we all want to be annihilated.
"You make a conscious decision that you hate British values and go off to fight for the opposition.
"Therefore, prepare to be killed - because that's what happening with our guys. It's our duty to kill them first."
He also criticised those weighing into the debate without any military experience, warning: "The people who sit back and moralise would change their mind if it was their hometown which got bombed.
"There are too many people who think about these problems with no experience or knowledge of the world they're talking about.
"They look at it within the context of their own world, as opposed to the world which is fighting IS."

McNab added that there should be no shot at redemption for any Brits who fled the UK to fight with IS barbarians.
He said: "Obviously there's got to be the work done to prevent people from going over to the sick ideology in the first place.
"But it's got to be very blunt and very clear so everybody knows where they are. You go over that line - you're a combatant.
"Expect to be killed because that's what you've tried to do to us."
