Convicted terror backer Ismail Kamoka wins his legal bid to sue the UK security services

A CONVICTED terror backer has won his legal bid to sue UK security services.

Ismail Kamoka, 51, was jailed in 2007 for sending cash and false passports to the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG).

The banned organisation is said to have links with Ramadan Abedi, dad of Manchester Arena bomber Salman Abedi, 22, far right.

After serving his term, Kamoka was recommended for deportation and stayed under a control order.

He claims he was detained illegally by MI5 and MI6 from 2008-9.

The case was thrown out by the High Court last year, but has been reopened by the Court of Appeal.

Kamoka could win a payout of hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Tory MP Alec Shelbrooke said: “He shouldn’t be allowed to sue.

“How can security services operate if they need to constantly look over their shoulders?”

Libyan embassy worker Kamoka, of North London, has denied links to the Arena bombing and that Ramadan Abedi is part of LIFG.
