THE boss of Pippa Middleton’s favourite restaurant may face a £200,000 fine for using illegal workers.
Immigration officials raided Spanish diner Cambio De Tercio in Kensington, West London, following a tip-off.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister has said it is her favourite place to eat and published a recipe for its ham croquettes.
Owner Abel Lusa said on Spanish TV that Pippa has only to text to secure a table. He said: “We’ve known her a long time.”
Sister restaurants Capote Y Toros nearby and Tendido Cuatro in Fulham were raided at the same time.
Seven men and three women, 21 to 34, from Mexico and Brazil were seized for overstaying or breaching visas. Nine are being held in immigration detention centres pending deportation.
One was freed. Fines for each alleged offence could be £20,000.
The owners deny any wrongdoing. Mr Lusa said: “We comply with the law.”
The Central London Immigration Enforcement team said using illegal labour undercuts honest businesses, robs others of jobs and cheats taxpayers.
