Targets include the grieving family of Rachel Corrie, a student protestor crushed to death by a bulldozer while campaigning for Palestinian rights.

Heavy machinery firm Caterpillar, a client of Israel, hired a private intelligence firm in the early 2000s to spy on her family.

Leaked documents obtained by The Guardian also show energy firm Npower used Kent-based security firm Inkerman Group for “intelligence on potential threats or issues”.

Porsche, which faced environmental protests, hired another firm in 2008 for “information on the timing of upcoming demonstrations”.

Royal Bank of Scotland paid for information on environmental protestors and British Airways is listed as a client of a firm that infiltrated anti-aviation campaigners Plane Stupid.
