Inspirational triple amputee Afghanistan veteran Mark Ormrod celebrates 10 years since he cheated death by roadside bomb

AN Afghanistan veteran dubbed Britain’s Superman by Prince Harry is celebrating 10 years since he cheated death after stepping on a landmine.

Royal Marine Mark Ormrod, 35, became the first triple amputee of the war after losing both legs and his right arm.

But in October he was one of the stars of Harry’s Invictus Games in Toronto, winning four medals for rowing and swimming.

Mark, injured by a Taliban roadside bomb on Christmas Eve 2007, said: “It has been the most amazing journey.

“It has taken me from being blown up and wanting to end it all to the very best days of my life.

“I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.”
