Paedophiles ‘using YouTube as a shop window for abused children’

Experts warned Youtube might have broken the law because its algorithms listed one page in its 'recommended channels' section and another abuser’s account as a 'related link'

PAEDOPHILES are using YouTube as a “shop window” for abused children before swapping footage with other predators, it is claimed.

And legal experts warned the internet giant might have broken the law because its algorithms listed one page in its “recommended channels” section and another abuser’s account as a “related link”.

An investigation by The Times found one paedophile in Brazil posted dozens of ten second long videos of young girls standing silently, licking their lips or dancing.

He later told an undercover reporter he had 315 gigabytes of movies and photos available showing naked children.

Another user posted five videos of a 12-year-old girl “twerking” and invited viewers to swap sick content on Telegram.

Adrian Waterman QC said the “continued application” of an algorithm promoting indecent images of children could potentially be illegal.
