THIS is the horrifying moment a woman's leg was apparently cut off by a faulty lift after she became trapped in the closing doors while distracted by her phone.
The woman tripped and fell between the closing doors, with her right foot outside the lift, as the car suddenly started to rise up.
CCTV footage from inside the lift shows the woman and a pal looking at their phones as they walk towards the open doors.
The woman in front apparently does not notice the lift car has already started to rise, trips over the edge and fall inside with one leg trailing behind.
Her pal reaches a hand through the gap in an effort to help but is left behind as the lift goes up.
Finally the car stops and begins to descend and the woman is seen pushing herself away from the doors in agony.
Her lower leg was crushed and severed below the knee, according to reports in China.
The horror accident reportedly happened at the Conch Building in Shanghai on June 21, but the footage only emerged today.
It is not known whether the woman survived the accident and no further details have been made available.
In September gruesome footage showed a workman crushed and left dangling upside down when a lift malfunctioned in Chongqing, South-West China.
