Celtic ace Leigh Griffiths took back ex’s Mercedes after she claimed she’d given birth to his fifth child
Linzi McCartney, 26, named the Scottish footballer as the father of her newborn daughter after he posted a snap of his new girlfriend online.
LEIGH Griffiths’s ex-girlfriend Linzi McCartney was left fuming after the Scottish footballer took away the swanky Mercedes she’d been driving.
The Celtic striker, 27, went with a friend to collect the £60,000 4x4 from her home just hours after she named him as the father of her newborn daughter.
Outraged Linzi wrote: “Imagine getting your ex pregnant, lying to your new girlfriend about your daughter, then plastering a picture of her on your Instagram.”
She registered three-week-old Ellie’s birth on Thursday, giving her the surname Griffiths, like her two brothers.
Her middle name is Gloria — after the player’s mum.
But later that day the car she was using was removed from her. She had described it as “the best Christmas ever” when Griffiths handed her the keys to the Merc in 2015.
The current model was parked just a few yards from the front door of Mr Clark's house in Musselburgh, East Lothian.
Griffiths was seen arriving there at lunchtime in a £70,000 Range Rover.
He was wearing tracksuit bottoms, a hooded top and carrying a Greggs plastic bag.
Mr Clark said his footballer friend had "no comment" to make regarding the situation.
Ellie is thought to be his fifth child. Vikki Burns gave birth to daughter Kacie in 2011.
A year later Emma Cameron gave him a second girl, Layla.
Griff jest not worried
GRIFFITHS appeared to laugh off the spat with Linzi by liking tweets poking fun at it.
He gave the thumbs up to one user who said she thought she might be pregnant and he was the dad.
He also backed a message asking “@leighgriff09 can you help her out?” when a woman said she wanted a baby.
And he liked a tweet which joked the future Hibs line-up would be 11 players with the surname Griffiths.
