Where is Trump Tower and when was it built?

Trump Tower soars above 5th Avenue in Manhattan, New York City.

Der Scutt, of architects Poor, Swanke, Hayden & Connell designed Trump Tower and construction commenced on the building in 1979. It was completed two years later.

It houses the penthouse residence of Donald Trump, where he had lived before moving to the White House in January 2017.

In 2016, Forbes magazine valued the 300,000 square feet of office space at up to $471million, or £347 million.

What happened during the fire in January 2018?

A fire broke out on the top floor of the 664-foot-high building on 8 January 2018.

One person sustained a serious and possibly life-threatening injury, while another had a minor injury.

It was believed to be sparked by an electrical box on the roof of the building.

Crews were called to respond to the blaze at 6:58am local time but no evacuations were necessary.

Eric Trump, one of the president's sons, said on Twitter that it was a small electrical fire in the cooling tower on the building's roof.

He said: "The New York Fire Department was here within minutes and did an incredible job".

"The men and women of the #FDNY are true heros and deserve our most sincere thanks and praise!"
