Daughter of beheaded ISIS victim David Haines tells of horror as stalker who destroyed treasured scrapbook of her dad has jail-term quashed
Vile Murray, Bethany Haines' ex, also posted intimate pic of her and screamed abuse over six months
MURDERED ISIS hostage David Haines’ daughter told of her horror after her stalker’s jail sentence was quashed.
Tearful Bethany Haines, 20, fled court as appeal judges ruled Andrew Murray’s 21-month term was too harsh today.
The yob — who trashed Bethany’s treasured scrapbook of her dad, shared an intimate pic of her and screamed abuse over six months — instead got 200 hours’ unpaid work.
Bethany said outside the hearing in Edinburgh: “I’m absolutely distraught as he has just been let off.
“I cannot believe someone who did such horrible things and is a danger to the public can be let off to do community payback. The system is failing.”
Vowing to campaign for domestic abuse victims, she added: “I’m worried. He knows where I live and go to college and everything about me.
"I feel it’s up to me to make every woman in the country aware of what a menace he is so he doesn’t have an easy life or does it to someone else.”
The court heard Murray, 22, shown via video link at Perth prison, will flit to study sports science in Newcastle.
