‘DESPERATE PSYCHOPATH’

North Korean despot Kim Jong-un brands Donald Trump’s bigger nuke button boast the ‘spasm of a lunatic’

NORTH Korea branded Donald Trump's twitter boast about his big nuke button as the "spasm of a lunatic".

Despot Kim Jong-un used his New Year address to warn he has a "nuclear button" on his table which bated Trump into announcing his was "bigger and more powerful".

Trump wrote on Twitter: "Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!"

But in Pyongyang's first reaction to the tweet, the North's official party newspaper Rodong Sinmun today dismissed Trump's "swaggering".

It said: "The spasm of Trump in the new year reflects the desperate mental state of a loser who failed to check the vigorous advance of the army and people of the DPRK.

"He is making a bluff only to be diagnosed as a psychopath."

He tweeted: “Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!”

His outburst came after Kim sent the US a chilling New Year message warning North Korea's nuclear arsenal is complete and the launch button is always within reach on his desk.

But the fearless tyrant taunted the American president, who he said cannot attack North Korea because the country's nukes can now reach anywhere in the US.

Kim used his New Year address - broadcast on state television - to ratchet up tensions with the West days after the UN Security Council imposed new sanctions restricting oil sales.

He claimed the hermit state has achieved the historic feat of "completing" its nuclear forces in 2017 after a series of warhead detonations and ballistic missile launches.

Kim warned his nuclear arsenal is "reality, not a threat" and added he has a "nuclear button" on his desk.

He said: "The entire United States is within range of our nuclear weapons, and the nuclear button is always on my table."

Trump’s response to Kim’s threat came hours after US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley warned that North Korea may be preparing for another missile test.

"I hope that doesn't happen. But if it does, we must bring even tougher measures to bear against the North Korean regime,” she said.

"We will never accept a nuclear North Korea."

The fresh UN sanctions were passed in response to Kim's ballistic missile tests in the Sea of Japan.

Russia and China have both been accused of secretly supplying oil to North Korea in defiance of international agreements.

The claims come after Russia offered to mediate between the US and North Korea as the Kremlin said it wanted "to clear the way for de-escalation".

Russia warned war between North Korea and the US would be worse than anything seen before in human history.
