Cops to question FIVE new victims of John Worboys in latest bid to block sick taxi rapist’s prison release
FIVE of black cab rapist John Worboys newest alleged victims are set to be questioned this week as police try to block his release.
Worboys, one of the UK's most prolific sex attackers, was convicted of one rape, five sexual assaults and 12 drugging charges in 2009, but cops fear he may have drugged as many as 200 women.
Solicitor Harriet Wistrich told The Sunday People that the five women have bravely given statements for the first time.
She told the newspaper: "At least five cases are completely new and have never been investigated by police.
"Two others reported their cases to the police at the time but their cases weren't prosecuted so they are now asking to be put to the CPS for reconsideration about prosecution.
"What’s universally been said by those who have contacted me is that they are convinced he is a danger and they should do what they can to ensure that he doesn’t put other women at risk.”
Ms Wistritch believes the victims came forward after news of his release was revealed.
She said they plucked up the courage to speak because he's "incredibly manipulative".
Preparing for his life outside prison, Worboys changed his name to John Radford after the legendary Arsenal centre-forward and it was reported he could live in a seaside hideaway near four of his alleged victims.
On Wednesday, Sir Brian Leveson and Mr Justice Garnham are set to consider to allow Sadiq Khan and two of Worboy's victims the right to apply for a judicial review.
But London Mayor Sadiq Khan has sacked one of the barristers hired to present the hearing to challenge his release - despite spending three weeks preparing.
This has raised fears as to whether the Mayor's legal challenge will be successful.
The Sun joined forces with the Daily Mail to launch a landmark legal bid to force the Parole Board to reveal why it approved Worboys’ release.
The Metropolitan Police declined to comment yesterday.
