OAP kept dog poo in the freezer for SEVEN months in battle with council
When Anglesey Council tried to fine Elanor Gramby for dog poo she had already picked up, she vowed that she would have her day in court - so froze the evidence for over half a year
A DOG-walker kept POO in her freezer for over half a year after a jobsworth council enforcer tried to fine her for not picking it up.
Anglesey Council "relentlessly pursued" Eleanor Gramby, 67, over the mess for seven months - and even promised to take her to court.
She claims she was handed the fine after walking her 89-year-old neighbour's dog in a local park.
When she refused to pay, enforcement firm Kingdom Security resorted to sending threatening letters to the Jack Russell's disabled owner.
But plucky Eleanor vowed to fight back - and got the fine overturned after demanding to see video footage of the incident.
She said: “Last July, I was walking my neighbour’s dog when he did a poo. It was loose so I tried my best to get as much up off the floor as I could.
“But a Kingdom officer approached me in the car park and said he was giving me a fine.
“I told him I’d picked up what I could, I even offered to clean the leaves but he just said: ‘Poo is poo,’ and gave me the ticket anyway.
“I took the bag home and put it in the freezer as evidence that I had picked it up.
“But for the last seven months, I’ve been relentlessly pursued by Kingdom to pay the fine.
“I’ve been sent around seven letters and some have even been sent to the dog’s 89-year-old owner, who is partially sighted and disabled, demanding the money.”
After half a year of letters, she finally demanded to see video footage shot on the officer's body cam in January - but barmy council officials said releasing it would breach her own privacy.
She said: “At first they said they couldn’t show me the footage due to data protection, but I argued that the footage was of me so I had a right to see it,” she said.
“They asked me to call back in two days but all of a sudden, I got another letter telling me there was no longer a penalty due to a lack of evidence.”
She added: “I only take Mr Jones for walks as a favour for my neighbour, I’ve been doing so for two years but would never dare not pick up after him.
“I did all I could in this instance and was willing to prove my case in court, that’s why I kept the poo in my freezer.
“Surely they have got better things to do than victimise innocent people.”
A spokesman for Kingdom Security said: “This would be a matter for the council as they deal with matters following the issuing of a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) and any court proceeding determinations.”
