Young’s fish cakes recalled over fears they could contain pieces of plastic and metal
The household brand has sparked safety fears, with it not clear how the substances got into the products
SAFETY fears have been sparked after pieces of plastic and metal were found in Young's fish cakes.
Household brand Young's have now announced a voluntary recall of their Chip Shop Fish Cakes 6 pack product over the concerns.
The Food Standards Agency has now urged families to return the products to store.
The warning reads: "The presence of plastic and metal makes this product unsafe to eat and presents a safety risk.
"If you have bought any, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
"Young's is recalling the product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling it.
"These notices explain to customers why it's being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought it."

"The safety and quality of our products is highly important to us and we take all issues regarding the production of our food extremely seriously."
