Six schoolkids aged 13 rushed to hospital after taking suspected ecstasy tablets
The psychoactive drug is known to have a number of adverse health effects
SIX schoolkids were rushed to hospital last night after taking suspected ecstasy tablets.
The 13-year-olds, from Ayrshire, were kept overnight in hospital after the alarm was raised on Saturday night.
Detectives are investigating the possibility that the group of friends took a type of MDMA tablet bearing an owl logo.
Three teens were rushed to Crosshouse Hospital when they fell ill at around 6.30pm last night.
Shortly afterwards three more kids were brought to hospital with similar symptoms, with all six kept in overnight for observation.
Psychoactive drug MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, is known to cause a number of acute adverse health effects.
Symptoms can include high blood pressure, faintness, panic attacks and in severe cases, a loss of consciousness and seizures.
Detective Inspector Fraser Normansell issued a statement, saying: “Police were informed of six children who had been taken to Crosshouse Hospital after taking unwell.
