Donald Trump gets restraining order against porn star Stormy Daniels to prevent her from going public about alleged affair

DONALD Trump has won a gagging order to stop Stormy Daniels revealing bombshell details about their alleged affair.

The adult film star is suing the US President and yesterday her lawyer hinted she could release "sex texts and videos" to prove they had a fling.

Today legal documents emerged showing Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen obtained a restraining order against the actress in private arbitration proceedings last week.

It bars her from sharing "confidential information" about the alleged relationship, US media report.

The adult film star — real name Stephanie Clifford — has said she is taking legal action to be able to speak freely about the affair. Trump denies her claims.

Mr Cohen has admitted paying her $130,000 (around £94,000) from his own pocket in late October 2016, days before the US presidential election.

Stormy's lawsuit claims it was "hush money"  to keep her quiet but the non-disclosure agreement is not valid because Trump did not sign it.

Yesterday Stormy's attorney Michael Avenatti was asked on US television about the existence of “photos, images, text messages, or documents”.

He said it was for his client to comment, hinting there could potentially be proof of the alleged liaisons at hotels in Beverly Hills and Lake Tahoe.

Mr Avenatti also explained why Daniels had decided to sue, blaming Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen and others for ";bullying" her and spreading “misinformation”.

He added: “She believes it’s important that the public learn the truth about what happened.”

Stormy's lawyer also said she faced threats by Mr Cohen and others of legal penalties of $1million if she spoke about Trump after signing the hush contract.

Her affair with Trump began in the summer of 2006, not long after his wife Melania gave birth to their son Barron, and lasted well into 2007, according to the lawsuit filed in LA.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders told a news briefing: "The president has addressed these (claims) directly and made very well clear that none of these allegations are true.

"This case has already been won in arbitration and anything beyond that, I would refer you to the president's outside counsel."

Last month a statement from Mr Cohen claimed he had not been reimbursed for the money he gave Stormy Daniels.

He said: “Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly."
