Two-thirds of Brits living ‘unfulfilled’ life with Scots the most miserable
Londoners have just 83 minutes of spare time a day while those in Scotland, Yorkshire and the South West are the most unfulfilled in the country
AN OVERWHELMING majority of Brits feel like they're living unfulfilled lives, new research says.
Most people said a lack of time and money means they've only been able to tick off a few items on their bucket lists.
Londoners were found to have the least spare time, with just 83 minutes a day to do their own thing.
People in the South West of England had 130 minutes of spare time every day, while those in the South East had 108 minutes, Scotland had 107 minutes and Yorkshire had 104 minutes.
Despite their lack of free time, Londoners had the richest lives in the country with 45 per cent of people in the capital considering their lives fulfilled.
Those with more time, but less fulfilled, were the South West, Scotland and Yorkshire.
The research, commissioned by Old Speckled Hen as part of the brand's 'Seek a Richer Life' campaign, shows having more time doesn’t mean feeling more fulfilled.
Marketing director Dom South said: “People think you need more time to chase your dreams, but it’s really the people who have less time that are seeking a richer life.
“The new research shows that you just need to use your time wisely.”
As well as geography, the research revealed that your annual earnings dictate how time-poor you will feel.
48 per cent of people who earn between £20,000 and £45,000 claim they don’t have enough time to do what they want in their life.
Whereas almost three quarters of those earning more than £45,000 feel that they do.
This seems to weigh heavy on us as a nation, as one in six under the age of 45 consider themselves to be unfulfilled, rising to 20 per cent between the ages of 45 and 54 years old.
The Old Speckled Hen campaign encourages its consumers to seek bespoke experiences so they can feel more fulfilled.
Seeking new experiences generally makes us happier, gives us a better quality of life and gives more meaning to our limited free time.
