Fans rage as JK Rowling ‘likes’ tweet calling trans women men in dresses
Fans of the Harry Potter author were quick to pounce on the usually PC JK Rowling after she liked a transphobic tweet
JK Rowling sparked fan fury by appearing to back a transphobic tweet.
The Harry Potter creator, 52, “liked” a message which branded transgender women as “men in dresses”.

It was posted amid a row about the status of transgender women in the Labour party.
One of the author’s 14.3million Twitter followers, Jon Hunt wrote: “My daughter has so many trans friends who grew up on Harry Potter. This is such a slap in the face to their childhoods.”
Trans journalist Shon Faye, added: “Trans culture is seeing the beloved author of your generation like a transphobic tweet.”
The author’s agents said she had not intentionally liked the post, blaming a “clumsy and middle-aged moment”. They said: “It’s not the first time she has favourited by holding her phone incorrectly.”
