Now, grieving Pamela Munro has revealed she wants to face Leathem in prison and has even written to him.

She said: "I've wrote to him. He won't write back to me. He's not going to accept a visit. I made it clear from day one I'd visit him and face him.

"It'll help me. I'd love to look him in the eye and say why? Every murder is horrific no matter what but at the end of the day she was a wee girl."

She also added her younger daughter Paton called her a "liar" after she found out how Paige died - Pamela had told her she died after hitting her head.

She revealed she is often the target of sick online trolls - and revealed even cops warned her to expect abuse.

She said: "It's been a nightmare. There's a lot of abuse, more so now. I just think they think you don't have feelings and things don't matter.

"If I see it, I do comment and say "you don't know me, how can you stand there and speak about me" but they never answer."

"The police warned us, they told us you'll get trolled for years and every time you do something people will have something to say about it so just be prepared.

She was speaking to comedian and former Glow star James English's podcast when she added: "We did have that knowledge that it would happen so I tried to mentally prepare myself but sometimes it's hard to just ignore.

"I don't think they realise that I have a 12-year-old wee boy that reads it. He can get on to the internet and see these stories.

"He'll say "why are people saying these things about you mum?".
