Labour Party GAINS 1,000 members since anti-Semitism scandal began

The party has signed up 1,000 new recruits during a turbulent week

JEREMY CORBYN’S scandal-hit Labour signed up 1,000 members in the last week, at the peak of the bitter civil war over anti-Jewish hatred.

At the same time, 180 party supporters also tore up their membership cards, following the lurid anti-Semitism claims.

Leaked membership data seen by the Huffington Post shows the divided opposition party has signed up 952 new members since thousands descended on Parliament Square, urging the Labour boss to clamp down on prejudice against Jews.

Current membership of the party stands at 546,110.

During a month of bitter internal strife, a total of 1,714 signed up - while 470 have chosen to quit.
