Devastated girlfriend pays tribute to boyfriend after his body is found in field and reminds people to make most of their time with loved ones

Police officers confirmed a body was found in the town on Monday after Donald Keir White was reported missing by his girlfriend on Good Friday

THE devastated girlfriend of footballer Donald Keir White has paid tribute to him - reminding people to make the most of their loved ones as "you never know when it's the last time you'll see them."

The 24-year-old man was last seen by his girlfriend Amy Collins on Good Friday, with his body tragically found in a field just a few days later.

Heartbroken Amy shared a tribute to her boyfriend, writing: "Rest in peace my handsome boy.

"Thank you for making the time I spent with you so special u never know what's hiding behind a big gorgeous smile.

"Be kind to your loved ones you never know when it's the last time you'll see them.

"I love you forever, my heart's all yours."

Police confirmed the body of the Kilmarnock man had been found on Easter Monday after a desperate search in Ayrshire.

Mr White's relatives were made aware of the harrowing discovery.

Others have flooded social media with tributes to the young man, remembering him as a "jovial character" who would be sorely missed.

Keen footballer Keir was remembered by various teams he previously played for with Bonnyton Thistle tweeting out: "We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former player Keir White.

"A good-natured individual, a jovial character & above all a popular lad. He was loved in the dressing room & will be sorely missed.

"Our thoughts are with his family, girlfriend & friends at this time."

Hurlford AFC said: "RIP player and friend Keir White ❤❤ a true gentleman and always a pleasure to be around.

Dean Thistle also posted: "The club were very sad to hear of the passing of one of their former players keir white today.

"While at the club Keir treated his team mates and coaches with the utmost respect.

"We would like to pass on our deepest sympathy to his mother Donna and all the family. RIP KEIR."

Pal Andrew Bargh said: "Nothing but fond memories of playing football with Keir White. A great, friendly guy and quality player. RIP"

A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 3.20 pm on Monday, April 2, 2018, police were called to a report of the body of a man having being found within a field near to Greenhill Terrace.

"Formal identification is yet to take place however it is believed to be Donald Keir White.

"His relatives are aware.

"A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
