Five-year-old’s cheeky homework describes family as ANNOYING – but mum sees funny side

A cheeky five-year-old handed in her school homework which described her family, including the pet dog, as 'annoying'

A CHEEKY five-year-old described her family – including the pet dog – as “annoying” in a homework assignment but her mum saw the funny side.

Mum-of-two Natalie Fowler, 33, was shocked when she read her daughter Isla’s homework after her teacher had asked if she had seen it.

After she had gone home she immediately read through what had been written, with Isla saying she hated her dad, while her mum, sister and dog annoyed her.

Natalie now finds the homework hilarious and says her daughter doesn’t mean what she wrote.

Natalie, from Sheffield, South Yorks, said: “The teacher came up to me in the playground, laughing, and asked me if I’d seen Isla’s work.

“She told me it was brilliant and that she didn’t know how to mark it, even though she had used the ‘oy’ sounds correctly.

“I asked Isla about it and she burst out laughing and telling me that I should read it first, but she didn’t have it on her so I had to get it from the teacher the next day.

“When I asked Isla about it she was just sat and laughing, so I started laughing too – but then I had to ask her if she meant what she said.

“She told me she didn’t, but ‘annoying’ was the only ‘oy’ sound she could write – but I’m not sure why the comment about her dad was there.”

She has since shown it to her friends and family and even regularly laughs with Isla’s teachers about it.

She added: “When I went back in to school the next day myself and the teachers had a good laugh about it, as Isla really isn’t the type of girl to write anything like that.

“Everyone I’ve shown the work to has thought that it was hilarious as it’s come from little Isla and it’s totally unexpected for her.

“It’s definitely her funniest piece of homework yet.”

And if the homework wasn't funny enough, the teacher has also spelt the word 'isn't' incorrectly in her comments about Isla's homework at the bottom of the picture.
