This helps fitness fans release “feelgood” hormones such as serotonin and relax more as they stretch on their mats in a barn.

Mum-of-two Laura, 38, was inspired to launch the first classes in Britain after seeing videos of “goat yoga” in the US.

She said: “Goats have individual characters and look us in the eye. You can’t help but fall in love with them.

“They playfully jump and climb on you, lightly nibble your clothes and hair and take a real interest in each participant.

Classes of up to 16 take place at the family farm Marlborough Downs, Wilts, where the Boer goats are bred.

Laura added: “They are aged three to six weeks — any older and they become too heavy and develop sharp horns.”
