Stephen Lawrence’s mum tells cops to end their probe into his death after nearly 25 years
THE mum of murdered teen Stephen Lawrence has said cops should end their probe into his death after almost 25 years.
Doreen Lawrence said the Met should close their investigation if there are no more major leads.
Scotland Yard has spent over £50million trying to bring 18-year-old Stephen’s killers to justice.
Just two people have been jailed for his 1993 murder at a bus stop in Eltham, South East London.
Mrs Lawrence told the Daily Mail: “They say they’re carrying on the investigation, but doing what?
“If they’ve come to the end they should be honest and stop.

“I think they’re carrying on pretending everything’s fine because they don’t want to hear what I’ll say if it is stopped.
“As Stephen’s mother I think all of them should be behind bars.
“But it’s six years now since those two convictions and I’m very conscious the money for the investigation is out of the public purse.”
