Pot-head smoked so much weed in his flat it left pet marmoset ‘stoned’
A court was told the 8in primate got so lonely and depressed he let out high-pitched squeals in a bid to find friends
A POT-HEAD smoked so much weed in his flat his pet monkey was feared to have got stoned and had to be rescued by RSPCA vets.
Joe Forrestal’s 8in marmoset Caesar inhaled super-strength skunk while he was kept in a cage.
Vets who found the tiny primate discovered traces of cannabis in a sample of his fur and believed he was suffering from the effects of it.
Caesar was also so lonely and depressed he let out squeals in a bid to find friends, a court heard.
Convicted drug dealer Forrestal, 23, has now been banned from keeping pets for five years and ordered to pay £1,410 in fines and costs after admitting two charges of failing to ensure his pet’s welfare.
He was also accused of poisoning the monkey with the cannabis but prosecutors dropped that charge because they could not prove he did it deliberately.

The monkey was removed from the flat in Brent, North London, and is being cared for at an RSPCA centre, Willesden JPs heard.
The charity’s Nicole Broster said after the case: “Poor Caesar was kept in completely inappropriate conditions.
"It was heartbreaking to see. There was such a strong smell of cannabis it was overpowering.”
