LOOSE woman star Linda Robson has told how her teenage son watched knifed pal Ben Kinsella die in his arms - but says Britain's streets are MORE dangerous today.
The telly star called for a total ban on knives - and even called for airport-style metal detectors on public transport.
She told the : "as young kids head out the door at night, they’re not just picking up their telephones and their car keys; they’re picking up their telephones, their car keys and then their knives.
“We need more policing and zero tolerance. It should be jail if you’re caught with a knife. Chances are, if you’re taking it out with you, you’re going to hurt someone, if not kill them.
“And never mind woodwork classes, lessons on knife crime should be in all secondary schools.”
She told how then-16-year-old son Louis cradled Ben Kinsella as he lay dying in the street.
Ben was stabbed on a night out by three gang members just as he celebrated the end of his GCSE's.
Louis was with him in his last minutes while they waited for an ambulance.

She added: “He’d found Louis on the floor with Ben in his arms. It was unbelievable. I was ringing Brooke and the parents, but it was too late.
“You live in hope that things had got better [since Ben died]. But a young boy next door to my daughter just got killed with a machete. Another boy on my sister’s estate was killed.
“It’s a worry for parents every time our kids go out.”
