Andrew Morton worked for three London tabloids - the Daily Star, News of the World and Daily Mail - until 1987.

Morton has also written about celebrities including Tom Cruise, Madonna, Angelina Jolie and Monica Lewinsky.

On April 12, 2018, he released his newest book, , around a month before Markle's marriage to Prince Harry.

Just days before the Royal Wedding, on May 15, Andrew was rushed to hospital with a suspected stroke.

Andrew Morton released the biography, Diana: Her True Story, on June 7, 1992 - five years before she died in a car crash in Paris.
In it, he alleged that Prince Charles resumed his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles and Diana later began one with Major James Hewitt.

The book, which also revealed the Princess's allegedly suicidal unhappiness, caused a media storm.

In 1991, Morton revealed he had conducted a secret interview with Diana in which she had talked about her marital issues and difficulties.

Andrew Morton gathered information from several people close to US actress Meghan Markle, who married Prince Harry.
