POISONED Russian spy Sergei Skripal’s daughter was last night under armed guard to avoid another assassination bid, The Sun can reveal.
Yulia, 33, is out of hospital after recovering from last month’s poisoning.
It came as Russia insisted attempts by Britain to secretly resettle the Skripals would be treated as “abduction”.
Ex-double agent Sergei, 66, was yesterday still in hospital but “making good progress” after the Novichok chemical attack in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
A source said of Yulia: ‘’She is in hospital on a military base for her own protection and to monitor her health.
“The effects of this nerve gas are unknown and could resurrect themselves at any point.”
It is hoped Yulia will now be able to provide clues to her would-be assassin.
But a friend of the Skripals, who did not want to be named, said: “They will never catch the killer, he’s probably back in Moscow drinking vodka.”
Sergei and Yulia underwent round-the-clock treatment at Salisbury District Hospital after collapsing on a park bench.
Dr Christine Blanchard said: “Both have responded exceptionally well. But equally, both patients are at different stages in their recovery.
“I want to take this opportunity to wish Yulia well. This is not the end of her treatment, but a significant milestone.
“Her father has also made good progress. Although he is recovering more slowly, we hope he too will be able to leave hospital in due course.”
Sergei’s best pal Ross Cassidy, 61, who collected Yulia from Heathrow the day before they were targeted, said: “We’re delighted at the news.”
Meanwhile London’s Russian Embassy accused the British Government of an “abduction”.
Officials said on social media: “Secret resettlement of Mr and Ms Skripal, barred from contact with their family, will be seen as an abduction.”
The Bishop of Salisbury will hold a service of cleansing and celebration this Sunday for the victims of the attack.
