Stephen Lawrence murder investigation finds no new lines of inquiry

THE Stephen Lawrence murder probe has no new lines of inquiry, cops admitted yesterday.
It is “unlikely to pro-gress further” without fresh clues, the Met said.
The force said it followed numerous reviews and every possible advance in forensics.
Stephen’s mum, Baroness Doreen, and dad Neville were told earlier this year.
Last week, Stephen's mum Doreen said she thought the investigation should end.
But the Met’s Chris Le Pere said: “There is still the opportunity for someone to come forward.”
Stephen, 18, was knifed by up to six racist thugs in Eltham, South East London, in April 1993.
Of his five or six attackers, two are serving life sentences for his murder - Gary Dobson and David Norris - who were jailed in 2012 after an Old Bailey trial that hinged on tiny traces of forensic evidence.
His parents took a private prosecution against three men - Dobson, Luke Knight, and Neil Acourt in 1996, but the case collapsed.
