JEWISH Labour MPs who bravely spoke out about their anti-Semitism ordeal today faced a fresh barrage of abuse from trolls who accused them of lying about being targeted.

Far-left activists shockingly claimed the group of female politicians were trying to claim “victimhood status” in a bid to smear Jeremy Corbyn on behalf of Israel or “big business”.

They also mocked the Jewish women for getting tearful in the Commons - and described the anti-Semitism scandal as a “false flag”.

And one MP was told it was HIS fault anti-Semites had threatened to rape his wife and daughter, because he is “a d**k”.

In other developments today:

  • A leading Corbynista MP claimed the Labour anti-Semitism crisis as caused by "right-wing trolls"
  • Theresa May accused the Labour boss of letting bigotry "run rife"
  • Mr Corbyn finally spoke out in support of his own MPs who have been targeted

Last night a group of Labour MPs gave moving speeches in Parliament about the anti-Jewish abuse they receive - often from self-declared Corbyn supporters.

Ruth Smeeth, speaking while on the verge of tears, read out a sample of the vile messages she gets, including one which said: “Hang yourself you vile treacherous Zionist Tory filth. You are a cancer of humanity.”

Afterwards left-wing journalist Asa Winstanley posted on Twitter: “Former Israel lobbyist Ruth Smeeth is not a reliable source of information.”

Another Corbyn backer added: “Oh, hey up, Ruth Smeeth's stop crying long enough to do her bit in putting the boot into #Corbyn”.

And one anonymous user said: “Stop this competition for victim hood status for the subsequent hero worship.”

Luciana Berger, MP for Liverpool Wavertree, told the Commons last night: “I was 19 when I received my first piece of hate mail - it described me as a dirty Zionist pig - and so started my 18-year experience of contending with anti-Semitism.”

But one web user replied on Twitter: “I want my MP to work for me, not feel sorry for herself.”

Another asked her: “Luciana, why did you stab Jeremy Corbyn and Labour in the back?”

And a Labour supporter named Keith Lloyd said on her Facebook page: “As far as I am concerned Luciana Berger is at the heart of the anti-Semitism smear campaign initiated because the LP has a leader who is actively opposed to the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory.”

Veteran MP Margaret Hodge said in her speech: “I have never felt as nervous and frightened as I feel today at being a Jew.

"It feels that my party has given permission for anti-Semitism to go unchallenged.”

Corbynistas suggested she was exaggerating the scale of abuse faced by Jewish people - Fazlul Karim asked her: “Can you give us some authentic examples of anti-Semitic behaviour you faced from Labour Party please?!”

Blasting all the MPs who spoke, another lefty troll said: “You know it’s a false flag smear. These people aren’t socialist but big business that have bought their way into the party.”

One anonymous Twitter account added: “It is no secret that Luciana Berger, John Mann and Ruth Smeeth are Labour friends of Israel.

“LfoI has a problem with Corbyn. So much that they have used #antisemitism, a serious issue, as a weapon to exploit in order to smear a Labour leader who stands for human rights.”

John Mann, chair of the Parliamentary group on anti-Semitism, was told it was his fault that his family has been targeted with vile rape threats and sent dead animals in the post.

After he spoke out in the Commons, one Corbynista said: “Alternatively, it could be in revenge for him just being a d**k?

"He needs to take a long hard look at the effect his behaviour and comments have on those around him.”

Pro-Corbyn MP Chris Williamson, known as a hard-left attack dog, today insisted many of the abusive messages were actually sent by “right-wing trolls” who are trying to discredit Labour.

He told Sky News: “I have evidence of right-wing trolls who are setting themselves up as pro-Corbyn, pro-Labour individual on social media.

“Claiming to be Labour supporters, and then using that platform to make horrible anti-Semitic, abusive remarks.”

Jeremy Corbyn told he is personally responsible for wave of ‘dinner party’ anti-semites who spew casual hatred towards Jews by Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP

Theresa May told Mr Corbyn at PMQs today that he had allowed hatred of Jews to "run rife" in Labour.

After he called the Prime Minister "callous" because of the Windrush crisis, she replied: "I will not take an accusation of ‘callous’ from a man who allows anti-Semitism to run rife in his party."

The Labour leader was criticised yesterday for leaving the Commons while the debate on anti-Semitism was still going on.

This morning he said: "I pay tribute to MPs who spoke in yesterday's antisemitism debate, whose harrowing experiences remind us of the urgent need to eradicate antisemitism from politics and society.

"There is no excuse for abuse of any kind, and I want to thank them for their bravery in speaking out."

A new poll released today shows nearly two thirds of the public believe Labour has a real problem with racial hatred.
