Kim Jong-un ‘ordered North Korean hit squad to hunt defector who fled to UK with trove of nuclear secrets’
A CRACK squad of North Korean assassins are reportedly hunting a high-ranking defector suspected of fleeing to Britain with nuclear secrets.
The colonel and senior counter-espionage official is said to have slipped away during a visit to China and made his way to Europe.
Known only as Mr Kang, the top spook is believed to have fled with a machine that prints US dollars along with a wad of other foreign notes.
But because of his knowledge of North Korea's nuke program and spy network he is a marked man, it’s claimed.
Kim Jong-un has reportedly freaked out and ordered a hit squad to assassinate Kang.
The reports the race is on before he's officially granted asylum and able spills his secrets to British and other Western intelligence agencies.
Colonel Kang’s job is to “monitor dissident and espionage efforts in Russia, China and southeast Asia”.
Kim has already shown his willingness to assassinate abroad after his half brother Kim Jong-nam was smeared his face with chemical nerve agent VX on February 13 last year.
Kang is considered an elite North Korean citizen because he is a descendant of Kang Pan-sok, the mastermind behind the guerrilla campaign against the Japanese occupation during the war.

The high-ranking spy vanished from the Zhongpu International Hospital in Shenyang on February 25, sources told Seoul newspaper .
The hotel is operated by the North Korean and Chinese governments and reportedly serves as a cyber attack hub.
It is presumed that he has gone to France or Great Britain, DailyNK reports.
