His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Also on Monday, a teenager was shot in the leg while out with friends at 2.45pm in Vale Street in Clayton, Manchester.

He is being treated in hospital for “serious injuries" while cops cordoned off the street, according to authorities.

Meanwhile, a man, believed to be aged in his late-teens or early 20s, was stabbed at 4.38pm yesterday on Leytonstone Road in London.

The condition of the victim is unknown while investigators have sealed off the street where the knifing happened.

Following the stabbing, the Met Police have issued a Section 60 in the borough of Newham meaning cops can stop and search anyone in the area.

No arrests have been made in either the London or Manchester attacks.

Following the shooting in Clayton, Detective Inspector Claire Moss of GMP’s City of Manchester Division, confirmed a manhunt was underway for the gunman.

She said: “People will understandably be concerned that someone has been shot in broad daylight on their streets, but I want to assure them we are doing all we can to get to the bottom of what happened.

“We have increased patrols in the area and have a cordon in place, and I’d ask people to share any information that could help us identify the person responsible for such a violent attack with these officers.

“If you know something that could help our enquiries, please get in touch with police as soon as you can.”

This comes after a man was stabbed to death in Becks Lane in Macclesfield.

The 37-year-old is the fifth person to be murdered in the UK during the Bank Holiday weekend.

Scotland Yard has sent out extra patrols in London after a teenager was shot dead and two boys aged 13 and 15 survived being blasted with a shotgun.

Two more men were shot or stabbed and three were doused in acid in Dalston, Hackney, as the capital's shocking violence claimed yet more victims.

It is understood that cops will be carrying out extra "stop and search" checks following the aftermath of a violent spate of attacks.

Armed police are also involved in the patrols.

The Sunday mayhem began at around 4am in Liverpool where a 20-year-old was found with horrific stab wounds.

He was raced to hospital but died shortly after.

A few hours later, the two boys were attacked in Harrow before another 20-year-old was stabbed to death in Luton at around 4.40pm.

The horror continued as a 22-year-old man became the fourth person shot in the capital over the weekend when he was attacked in New Cross, South London, just after 6pm.

And the attacks came after 17-year-old Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton was shot dead in a suspected drive-by shooting yesterday evening.

His mum Pretana, 38, said: "Let my son be the last and be an example to everyone. Just let it stop. What must be, must be."

Elsewhere a 43-year-old was stabbed in Ealing after a dispute over a man's driving down a residential street.

Scotland Yard said officers were called to Buckingham Avenue, Perivale, at just after 9pm on Sunday to reports of a stabbing.

The male victim is in hospital in a stable condition, police added.
