Donald Trump bans Irn-Bru from his luxury Scottish golf resort after £200m refit – because it could stain the carpets
Bosses at the exclusive Ayrshire golf course claimed it would cost £500,000 to replace the ballroom carpet alone if it was tarnished
DONALD Trump’s Scottish golf resort has banned Irn-Bru because it could stain the carpets.
Bosses at the exclusive Turnberry course and hotel have taken the drastic decision to bar the favourite soft drink.
And they claim it would cost £500,000 to replace the ballroom carpet if there were any stains.
Bosses also said there were already stains from the popular orange drink in villas within the estate in Ayrshire.
The move comes following a £200million refurbishment and after guests asked for Irn-Bru at an event but were knocked back.
Turnberry general manager Ralph Porciani said the luxury resort would have to fork out a fortune to clean the carpets.
He told the : "We can't have it staining when to replace the ballroom carpet would be £500,000 alone.
"We have villas here with Irn-Bru stains in the carpets which I can't let."
