Cops baffled by Meghan Markle’s sister car crash claims – and say her boyfriend could be charged with hit-and-run
COPS are baffled by claims that Meghan Markle's sister was injured in a car crash.
Samantha Markle, 53, is understood to have been driving with her partner near their home in Florida when they smashed into a concrete barrier.

It was reported she suffered a broken ankle and fractured knee, and pictures of her injuries appeared on
Her boyfriend Mark said he had been behind the wheel and was apparently trying to avoid a photographer who had veered in front of them to take pictures.

- Meghan Markle confirmed her dad would not be at her wedding as he continues to recover from major heart surgery
- Thomas Markle had earlier said he wouldn’t be attending for fear of embarrassing Meghan over staged paparazzi photos
- The 73-year-old suffered a heart scare last week which he has reportedly blamed on an open letter by his son Tom Jr – who has since said he’s “mortified”
- Samantha Markle, Meghan’s half-sister, slammed claims Kensington Palace is supporting their dad in hospital before she was injured in a car crash on Wednesday
- Police have since said they could not find any evidence of the crash
- Mr Markle backed Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland to give her away in his absence but she is said to not be on speaking terms with her ex-husband
- Doria met with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a Royal Wedding rehearsal and is expected to sit down for afternoon tea with the Queen today
- Kensington Palace announced Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be among the bridesmaids and page boys at the wedding
- Elton John will reportedly perform at Meghan and Harry’s wedding
But cops have told the that they can find no evidence of their claims and insist Mark may even face charges.
Lt. Kim Montes told the paper: "Even if they hit a stationary property such as a wall under Florida law you are required to report that to law enforcement. If you didn't that's considered to be a hit and run."

She said police scouted the 133 mile stretch of road where the incident took place for three hours.
Lt. Montes added: "We can't find any reports basically from all of central Florida. We can't find a report by name or a scenario that was similar to this."
She said Samantha could even face a fine herself for not wearing a seat belt.
It comes as it was reported her father Thomas Markle's major cardiac surgery went successfully after suffering a serious heart attack last week.
Meghan’s wheelchair-bound sister earlier told how their 73-year-old dad was devastated to be missing the opportunity to walk his daughter down the aisle as she weds Prince Harry.

She told us: “He was upset. He wanted to go. But his doctor had the overruling opinion he needed surgery. So he’s smart enough to know, ‘This is life-threatening’.
“It’s all been so heartbreaking and now my father’s in surgery. I don’t even think he’s awake yet.”
She also slammed claims Kensington Palace was helping their ailing dad — revealing she had to wire him cash so he could survive.
Samantha said: “He is badly in need of help. I’m dreadfully worried about him. He’s completely on his own.”

She said: “There was no actual contact from Meghan and she has not spoken with my father since the heart attack. I don’t know why that is, I’m not blaming her.”
Samantha denied claims there was a rift between them over the deal to stage photos before the wedding. She also insisted she brokered it, rather than her dad.
She said: “It was perfectly innocent. And I was doing it to defend my father against the paparazzi.”

She said: “He’s been so hurt by Tom. He was acting as if he was a spokesman for the family. My father wants nothing to do with him.”
When asked about Samantha’s claims, Kensington Palace said: “No comment.”
