Thomas Markle tells family to ‘shut up’ about ‘beautiful baby’ Meghan as he reveals pride at her becoming a duchess
MEGHAN Markle’s dad has told his family to "shut up about everything"; and said his daughter looks “beautiful” after watching Meghan wed from his hospital bed.
Thomas Markle was unable to attend the wedding after having heart surgery in the US this week.
"I wish I were there and I wish them all my love and all happiness."
He says watching the ceremony was ";emotional and joyful."
He said: "The service was beautiful and it's history. I will always regret not being able to be there and not being able to hold my daughter's hand."
"My baby girl is a duchess and I love her so much... When you watch your child get married, every thought goes through your mind, every memory from the first day she was born, the first time I held her.
"Now I pray that Harry and Meghan can go on a nice honeymoon and rest and relax, and all of my relatives will just shut up about everything."
He also told he sent Meghan a text before the ceremony to tell her he loves her.
Meghan and Prince Harry tied the knot with a groundbreaking modern ceremony complete with a gospel choir and eccentric American bishop.
