Royal Wedding fans slam Dermot O’Leary for ‘slouching and mumbling’ on BBC’s coverage

Viewers slammed the X Factor host for his presenting skills with several longing for the return of David Dimbleby

ROYAL wedding viewers blasted Dermot O’Leary’s presenting skills as he covered the event for the BBC.

Watchers branded him “slouchy” and accused the X Factor host of “mumbling” as he presided over the proceedings with Huw Edwards and Kirsty Young.

I’m a Celeb alumnus Scarlet Moffat was also drafted in by the beeb as they took a different tack to their normal coverage of Royal events.

Many viewers were baffled by the talent show host’s addition to the line-up and took to twitter to vent their bemusement.

Several wished for David Dimbleby to return who until recent years was the main presenter for state occasions.

The programme was branded ‘boring and embarrassing’ as Auntie decided to freshen up their look for the coverage.

More than one viewer begged for David Dimbleby to return to the screen

Many on social media have mourned the loss of the veteran BBC presenter and questioned why he was replaced by “embarrassing hosts”.

One disgruntled viewer wrote: “BBC One royal wedding show hosted by Dermot O’Leary and Kirsty Young. Two people who never front BBC One shows.

Another thundered: “Dear @BBC, a Royal Wedding, and you give us Ore Oduba, Alex Jones, Richard Bacon and Dermot O’Leary. What is this, Ninja Warrior?”

“This seems a very odd choice. It’s like watching some other channel.”

Another chimed in with: “I want to enjoy the royal wedding but the BBC is foisting Dermot O’Leary on us today. Don’t make me watch Sky.”

Others said: “When BBC royal wedding host Kirsty Young says something not remotely funny and Dermot O’Leary bursts into hysterical fake laughter. Every ten seconds. That.

“Would be nice if Dermot O’Leary could act like a proper BBC presenter by sitting up straight and speaking clearer.”

Some branded the coverage “horrendous” as viewers slammed the broadcaster’s coverage as “embarrassing”.
