The 49-year-old is the monarch's assistant private secretary, and had handed in her notice last September.
However it has been reported she has agreed to stay on as interim private secretary for a further six months, and won't be leaving in the summer as planned.
She had decided to leave following the ousting of Lord Geidt, the Queen's private secretary, who announced his resignation last July after 15 years in service.
It is thought Meghan, 36, will spend six months with her, learning how to be an effective member of "the firm", after marrying Harry on Saturday.

A source told the Times: "It will be six months of listening.
"It is not going to be quiet, though. It is going to be a very busy office."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first appearance as man and wife on Tuesday.
The happy couple attended Prince Charles' 70th birthday party at Buckingham Palace.

But Prince Harry was slightly put off as he gave his speech - having to stop to swipe away a bee.

While Prince Charles' birthday may be in November, it was chosen to celebrate his big day this week to make the most of the summer weather.
More than 6,000 people were in attendance, all linked to charities that Charles supports in celebration of his patronage work.
