TWO pals got the ultimate private jet experience as the only passengers on a flight to New York.
Cabin crew upgraded Yvette Francis, 47, and Peaches Murray to business class for champagne and cocktails.
They got the pick of 147 seats, avoided screeching infants and were treated to beds on the Delta Air Lines service from Heathrow.
Yvette, who headed to the States for a school reunion, said: “It was absolutely fantastic. To have a whole plane to yourself is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“We had world-class service. Cabin crew were so attentive.
"They said to us to help ourselves to anything from the fridge.”
The pair got economy tickets, worth £1,073 each, through a relative who works for Delta.
The cost jumps to £2,540 for premium economy and £5,042 for upper class.
When the pals’ original flight was cancelled they could not be moved to the same rescheduled flight as other passengers.
So the relative rebooked for the next day, May 24.
Yvette and Peaches arrived to find the boarding area deserted, and no one else on the plane.
Yvette added: “We were so shocked and excited. We went into business class and just had the works. The pilot told us he’d seen nothing like it in all his 35 years at Delta, and said he’d never forget us.”
The pair got a “Delta Sunrise” cocktail and the pick of “Dine and Rest” dishes. They feasted on ginger-marinated prawns, pan-fried cod, dhal makhani and ice cream.
In January Beth VerSteeg was the only passenger on a one-hour flight from Rochester, New York, to Washington DC.
