Huge blaze in Glasgow city centre sends tower of smoke billowing high above the city
Fire crews were called to the scene on Cadogan Street after the alarm was raised at 8.50am
A BLAZE in the centre of Glasgow has sent a huge tower of smoke billowing over the city.
Fire crews were scrambled to an office block close to Glasgow Central Station, at 8.50am today.
Plumes of dark smoke could be seen rising from the city centre but no one is believed to have been hurt in the blaze.
A spokesperson for SFRS said: "We received multiple calls of reports of a building fire on Cadogan Street in Glasgow at 8.50am.
"Four units were dispatched to investigate.
"And we remain on the scene."
Police and ambulance crews were spotted by witnesses at Greendykes House in the capital after teh alarm was raised earlier this morning.

And one person was rushed to hospital after residents were evacuated from nearby flats.
