A HOODED thug stands over a businessman and aims a gun at him after blasting him in the leg — in the latest shocking image of lawless Britain.
Vajid Karim, 32, was attacked near his front door in a quiet, residential street.
He pleaded for his life as the gunman, in a balaclava and holding what appears to be a sawn-off shotgun, fired twice.
The thug ran off when neighbours came rushing to the businessman’s aid.
Last night Vajid was in hospital with gunshot wounds to his right thigh.
He was blasted at 4.40am on Friday in Huddersfield, West Yorks.
A neighbour said: “Vajid is a nice bloke.
"I feel so sorry for him and hope he pulls through.
“But he lost a lot of blood, which is staining the pavement.”
Det Insp Andy Farrell, of West Yorkshire Police, said: “We believe it was a targeted attack.”
Earlier this week comic Michael McIntyre had his £15,000 Rolex stolen by a moped gang who smashed his Range Rover window on the school run in Golders Green, North West London.
Frail Zofija Kaczan, 100, died when a mugger broke her neck in Normanton, Derby.
And great-gran Iris Warner, 90, was savagely beaten by a burglar in Kingsbury, North West London.
