Street photographer Mindy Tan spent ten days in Pyongyang, North Korea - her vivid snaps reveal the colourful daily life of people living in the secretive hermit state
A PHOTOGRAPHER who spent ten days in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang in 2015 has given the world a glimpse inside the mysterious country.
Mindy Tan spent time in the capital and the countryside - she snapped a vivid selection of photographs of the hermit nation.
She said: "I can't say I've seen it all, but I've been allowed more leeway than expected to make my own observations and opportunities to come close to locals.
"I'm glad to have been there to witness what I could see to believe, no other story can take away that first-hand experience."
Tan is a documentary and street photographer based in Singapore.
She has a knack for turning ordinary situations into meaningful images.
Her photographs of North Korea show a colourful, bright world that's surrounded by mountains.

Her work focuses on the daily life, and daily routines of people in Asia.
She began her career as a newspaper journalist, then became a successful commercial and documentary photographer.
